Saturday September 24

9:00 AM  –  12:00 PM

Tampa Bay Watch, in partnership with Manatee County’s Natural Resource Department, is recruiting volunteers for a community native planting event at the Robinson Preserve Expansion (10299 9th Ave NW, Bradenton, FL 34209) from 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

Volunteers will assist with harvesting native wetland plants grown in our community nursery and transplanting them along the shoreline to enhance habitat, improve water quality, and help stabilize eroding areas.

Please come prepared to get wet and muddy, as some transplanting will occur in shallow water. Volunteers should wear long clothing and comfortable, closed‑toe shoes appropriate for outdoor work. We strongly recommend bringing rubber boots or shoes you don’t mind getting wet. We will provide gloves, though participants are welcome to bring their own garden gloves. Please also wear sun protection (sunscreen, hat, sunglasses) and bring a reusable water bottle. All necessary tools, plants, water coolers, and light snacks will be provided.

Volunteers under age 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and all participants are required to sign a liability waiver.
